Houston Taiko Festival
If you have never been to Miller Outdoor Theater for the Houston Annual Taiko Festival, make a mental note to go next September and make sure you take the kids!! It is one of the funnest shows I have been to. It makes you want to learn the drumming techniques and work out ( it is truly a full-body work out!…) with the performers. You will be mesmerized by the rythms and different size and shapes of instruments used. Apparently the children of Kolter Elementary are being taught Taiko as part of the Language magnet program. Talk about cultural awareness (or should I say awakenness…)
