Foreclosures in Bellaire
Is 5416 Aspen a doomed home? This is the second time this house at the corner of Aspen and Chimney Rock goes into foreclosure… At $134/sq.ft., it is the lowest priced newer construction in the Bellaire area, and still sitting on the market.
And what is the story with 4900 Bellaire? It has been on the Harris County Auction List for 2 months now… Realty Trac shows a loan balance of $790,000. The house is definitely worth twice that much. It went through an extensive remodel a few years ago. Remember the giant Nutcrackers up in front during the holidays? I suspect there is more there than a simple foreclosure.
Update on 4900 Bellaire (6/23/08): It looks like the owners were able to avoid the foreclosure auction because the house was sold on April 29th to Joseph and Kristine Garbo, and there was a mortgage taken for $940,000. The full purchase price was not disclosed.
Update on 5416 Aspen: As of June 2nd, the price is now $552,000.
